Tyler is struggling with the outward persona he’s developed for himself. Day after day he recoils at the vile things he says and the way he treats others, but at the same time he feels confined to complacency and self-hatred by his own fears and insecurities. A cycle of regret and resignation seems doomed to repeat itself until an encounter with a new person forces a confrontation between Tyler’s outward and inner selves, ultimately suggesting that perhaps there is a chance for this partially assembled soul to be more than he pretends to be.

Combining vérité inspired camerawork with new-wave editing and partially improvised performances, Choch is a symbolic and moving portrait of an unlikely individual’s identity crisis.

Radiates an emotional honesty that makes it one of the most intriguing and involving low-budget indies to cross my desk in 2011
— The Independent Critic, Richard Propes
A naturally performed and assured piece of work
