Finalist in New Wave Collective feature film grant program

Me and my feature film script Adults have been selected as finalists in the inaugural New Wave Collective.

The New Wave Collective is a filmmaker grant and mentorship program designed to support and elevate Canadian voices in feature filmmaking. Presented by the Chilliwack Independent Film Festival, the New Wave Collective provides selected filmmakers with resources, mentorship, and the platform to develop and produce original feature-length works.

I am so grateful to be a finalist for this program, because I’ve been feeling really discouraged by the lack of progress I’ve made on some of the mid-budget features I’ve been developing the last few years. Getting back to my micro-budget roots— reclaiming the sense of freedom and unrestrained optimism that comes with just going for it, not waiting for permission or enough resources, just trusting your creative ingenuity and the generosity and passion of the community around you— this sounds like exactly the kind of rejuvenation I need.
